| Bank of Montreal (BMO), , 1, 2026-04, , , , SMS does not work. Call will receive 2FA but the codes won't work on the website. You must contact them for them to specifically unblock your number as they block all VOIP by default. They removed all non-phone 2FA methods sometime in 2025-11 so getting your number whitelisted is mandatory now | |

Some companies maintain secret lists of phone numbers which they prohibit for new signups. If you run into this problem, you can:
- try again (sometimes this solves the issue)
- contact the company, letting them know of the issue
- use a different form of 2FA, like OTP (since SMS 2FA is neither private, nor is it all that secure)
- use a US number for US services, and a Canadian number for Canadian services (shortcodes don't work across borders unless licensed on both sides)
- find an alternative to that company's services
- use a service specifically tailored to SMS verification instead, like https://buynumber.io/ or https://crypton.sh/ or https://juicysms.com/ (their numbers might not be on these block lists, but they lack certain other features of a JMP phone number)
- Ask JMP support about the Premium+ route
