PSTN
The Public Switched Telephone Network is the global network of national, regional, and/or local telephony operators.
Originally a network of landline telephone systems, the PSTN is now largely digital and includes both wired and wireless (cellular, satellite) systems. Many of the networks have, or are progressively, migrating to Internet Protocol.
